EDPB adopts Guidelines on certification as a tool for transfers

On 16 June 2023, the EDPB published draft Guidelines on certification as a tool for transfers. The document, put out for public consultation, provides clarification and practical examples for the use of certifications as a means of transferring data subjects’ personal data to third countries outside the EEA for which adequacy has not been acknowledged by the European Commission. Consultations will close on 30 September 2023.
